Joint Committee on Mobility of Blind and Partially Sighted People

Policy statements

Introduction

The JCMBPS (Joint Committee on Mobility of Blind and Partially Sighted People) is an independent body consisting of representatives from the principle organisations of blind, deafblind and partially sighted people, with a specific interest in access and mobility.

Policy

The Joint Committee believes that blind, deafblind and partially sighted people should be able to move around and use buildings, transport facilities and the pedestrian environment safely and independently.

Policy statements have been produced on a range of issues to provide guidance to central and local government; providers, designers, operators and managers of transport facilities, buildings and the pedestrian environment.
